Harris Tweed Challenge

 

The challenge is open to all current members of the Highland Quilter’s.

Quilt Size –  23″ by 16″ (A2 paper size or 4 times A4) and can be either landscape or portrait.

All quilts must have the following:

Three layers, pieced and joined together by stitch.
A hanging sleeve minimum 4″ deep or other means of hanging for display
A clear label stitched to the back giving the Quilter’s name, Quilt title, contact number or email address
A separate label containing the same information on any packaging

DEADLINE 21st November.    –  Quilts should be brought to our November Meeting for display/show and tell.

Theme – A response to the peom ‘Woven in the Bone’ by Donald S Murray (from the Weaving Songs 2011, used by permission from Acair Ltd) and must include any Harris Tweed fabric of your choice.

Your quilt can be either traditional using blocks and piecing or a modern contemporary art piece using appliqué, stitch, embroidery, paint or other marks but it must include any Harris Tweed of your choice.  It cannot include any text from the poem.
